Who is Ahmed Rizk?
Ahmed M. Rizk was born in Kuwait in 1981. He received the Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences (FEPS), Cairo University, Egypt, in 2003, and the Advanced Certificate in International Trade from the UK Institute of Export in 2009. In 2011 he completed his Master’s Degree in Euro Mediterranean Studies from FEPS, in partnership with Paris Institute of Political Studies, the University of Amsterdam, the University of Barcelona, and the University of Berlin. Additionally, he attained many certificates in the fields of trade facilitation, economic development, corporate governance, energy management, and strategic planning from reputable organizations including; World Bank Institute and the European University Institute.
In 2004, he joined the Centre for Economic and Financial Research and Studies (CEFRS) as Economic Researcher. Then, in June 2005, he joined Industrial Modernization Center, where he was a Specialist at National Policy Support Unit (NPSU) and he was promoted to NPSU manager in 2013. In 2017, he joined Export Development Authority for the position of Deputy CEO for Policy and International Cooperation and then in 2018 he joined United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as a National Program Officer at the Regional Hub in Cairo. Through the past 15 years, he gained vast experience in economic development, as well as managing and evaluating commissioned firms and consultants’ deliverables. Key fields of experience include market studies, export plans, development strategies, and policy reform plans. He is acquainted with governmental entities, international organizations, donor-funded and development programs.
